Homeowner's girlfriend demands he fire his cleaning lady after finding out she takes food out of his fridge, homeowner refuses: ‘She has my permission’

Once you click with the right personal service professionals, they become priceless. If you found a hairdresser who actually cuts your hair how you want, you can never let them go, which is why some people go to the same hairdresser for 20 years.

The same goes for contractors, plumbers, mechanics, and house cleaners. You form a relationship with these people that even outlasts some actual friendships.

When the girlfriend in the story below demanded that her boyfriend fire his cleaning lady, we figured it must be because of something big. Firing an excellent cleaner is not something to be taken lightly. The girlfriend's reason for this demand was that she saw the cleaner take food out of the fridge, and claimed that it was unprofessional. 

Her boyfriend, on the other hand, insisted that he was the one who told his worker to feel free to take food out of the fridge during her breaks, and thinks it is perfectly normal to allow someone who works for you to make themselves a cup of coffee during their workday.

The girlfriend still thinks this is weird, but that is not enough to convince the homeowner to get rid of a service professional he trusts…

  • ButterMyPancakesPlz My guess is your gf is jealous/uncomfortable with the friendly dynamic you have with your housekeeper. If you cave in on this, it'll be a sign that she can define how you interact with others in your house. Say you're fine with the dynamic and if she continues to push, explain that now she is crossing a boundary and want to know why she's not respecting your preferences.
